Ingredients
Method
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, then add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth.
- Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Avoid overmixing; a few lumps are okay.
- Divide the batter evenly into small bowls based on the number of colors you want to use. Add a few drops of food coloring to each bowl and mix until the color is uniform.
- Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and lightly grease with butter or oil.
- Using small spoons or squeeze bottles, carefully dot the colored batters onto the skillet, creating a pattern of colorful dots. Be creative with the arrangement and size of the dots!
- Once the dots are placed, pour a small ladleful of plain batter over the top, ensuring it covers the dots completely to create a full pancake.
- Cook the pancake on medium heat until bubbles form on the surface and the edges look set, about 1-2 minutes. Flip carefully and cook for another 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
- Repeat the process with the remaining batter, greasing the skillet as needed.
- Serve the pancakes warm with powdered sugar, syrup, or your favorite toppings.
Notes
For best results, use gel food coloring for vibrant colors. Experiment with different dot patterns for unique designs.
